Viva Cruises has unveiled a series of river cruise sailings that include a seat at Christmas concerts by the acclaimed violinist and conductor André Rieu.
The six-night “Winter Magic with André Rieu” voyages will take place on 9 and 15 December 2026 and 15 December 2027 aboard the 80-guest Viva Ruby.
Departing from Dusseldorf, the concert will take place in Rieu’s hometown of Maastricht. Included in the price are tickets plus transport to and from the King of the Waltz’s performance.
Cruise fares start from £1,550 per person and the ship will also visit Venlo, Roermond and Nijmegen.
The price includes all meals, flexible dining across up to three restaurants and a selection of premium drinks including wine, spirits and cocktails.
Passengers will also have access to a complimentary high tea once per voyage, a replenished-daily minibar and Nespresso coffee machine in their cabin, plus a welcome bottle of prosecco. Wifi and tips are included.
Michelle Daniels, a director of sales at Viva Cruises, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to give guests experiences that resonate with their personal interests, and this sailing is a great example of that.
André Rieu has an incredibly loyal following, so combining a festive river cruise with the chance to see him perform live in his hometown creates something genuinely memorable.”
Cruise passengers have had plenty of options to see Rieu in concert in recent months.
Two Saga river cruises this month included a Maastricht performance by the conductor.
Additionally, Amadeus River Cruises has revealed details of a second “Rhine Concert Cruise” in 2027 after a sell-out January 2026 sailing.
It departs on 4 January 2027 from Cologne and finishes in Amsterdam with a performance by Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra in the Ziggo Dome. Prices start from £1,969 per person.
