Nepal authorities mistakenly name British aid worker as flood survivor

- The former Gloucester councillor explained the mix-up occurred when police took his details after he landed at an army barracks in Kathmandu on a humanitarian flight.
- Mr Chambers had travelled to Nepal independently to distribute vital supplies, including sleeping bags and water purification tools, and assist with recovery efforts.
- He was contacted by numerous journalists following a Nepali Army statement that incorrectly listed a British national among 119 rescued individuals.
- The Foreign Office confirmed that 36 British nationals remain unaccounted for in Nepal, as the UK Government pledged £5 million in humanitarian aid.
