The naira recorded an N11.12 gain against the United States dollar on a week-on-week basis at the official foreign exchange market.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, showed that the naira strengthened further against the dollar on Friday, trading at N1,346.49, compared with N1,347.63 recorded on Thursday.
The latest movement represents a marginal N1.14 gain by the naira against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.
On a week-on-week basis, the naira appreciated by N11.12 against the dollar.
Meanwhile, the naira remained stable at N1,405 per dollar at the black market on Friday, unchanged from the rate recorded on Thursday.
The development comes as Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $52.66 billion as of August 19, 2026, according to data from the apex bank.
