Motorists in Monklands are urged to plan their travel ahead of upcoming road closures throughout the area.

Swinton Crescent in Coatbridge will shut for five days from May 18 for footway and carriageway resurfacing.

The area affected will run from property 1 to 11, with Dunnachie Drive available as a diverted route.

Coatbridge’s Ochiltree Crescent, between Glencairn Drive and Craigie Place, will be shut all day on May 18.

Carriageway patching work is due to be completed and motorists are urged to take Glencairn Drive as a diversion.

A full day of carriageway patching will see Laxford Place, Coatbridge, closed from Paddock Street to Afton Gardens on May 22.

Sikeside Street, Sikeside Place, Paddock Street and Stathmore Walk will be on offer to drivers as alternative routes.

Finally, carriageway surface repairs on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council will result in a closure of Coatbridge’s Hornock Road from 8am to 5pm on May 24.

There won’t be any diversions for drivers and the closure will run between Gartsherrie Road and its termination.
