Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has dismissed an account of the circumstances surrounding the death of former military Head of State, Sani Abacha.

Sani maintained that the latest reports on the circumstances around Abacha’s death are misleading and should be ignored.

Posting on X, he wrote: “The claim on circumstances surrounding Abacha’s death is misleading. The Author couldn’t provide any convincing evidence other than literary narrative. It should be ignored.”

This comes as a former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, Dennis Amachree, revealed that the ex-Nigerian dictator died of cardiac arrest during sex with his girlfriend.

Amachree made the claims in his newly released memoir, “DSS @40: My Journey Behind the Shield.”

He disclosed that Abacha suffered the cardiac arrest at about 4:05 a.m. at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The former intelligence officer was an Assistant Director of Operations and Intelligence at the Lagos Command when Abacha died in June 1998.
