Mikel Arteta says Arsenal star’s ‘aura’ could be key in Premier League title run-in
North London to Budapest: How Arsenal fans can travel to Champions League final
Mikel Arteta believes Bukayo Saka’s growing “aura” and ability to change games are pivotal for Arsenal’s pursuit of their first Premier League title in 22 years.
Saka’s return from a five-game Achilles injury absence has revitalised Arsenal’s fortunes, contributing an assist and a goal in their 3-0 victory against Fulham last weekend.
The England international also scored the critical goal in a 2-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid, securing Arsenal’s place in their first Champions League final since 2006.
Arteta lauded Saka’s increasing influence, presence, and “special” quality, emphasising his importance to the team’s success and his ability to create fear in opponents.
Declan Rice, a £100 million signing from West Ham, has also been instrumental in transforming Arsenal into serious contenders, with Arteta praising his “outstanding” leadership and powerful impact, following his runner-up finish for the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.
