Met Police work through DNA list to find suspected double rapist
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to (PA)
The Metropolitan Police are employing advanced DNA techniques to trace possible relatives of a suspected double rapist linked to two attacks in south-east London.
The alleged rapes occurred in Thamesmead in May 2020 and Abbey Wood in June 2024, both targeting vulnerable women in daylight hours.
Investigators are using familial DNA analysis, working through a list compiled by the National Crime Agency to trace potential relatives of the suspect.
CCTV images of a man police wish to speak to have been released, and Crimestoppers is offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.
Detectives are appealing to the public for any information, urging those who recognise the man or have relevant details to come forward anonymously if preferred.
