Met Office extreme heat warning expanded as 38C temperatures in store

The Met Office has issued an amber extreme heat warning for parts of England and Wales, with temperatures expected to reach up to 38C next week.
The initial warning for Monday and Tuesday covers central and southern England, including the Midlands and parts of Wales.
A second amber warning extends from Wednesday to Thursday, encompassing similar areas and expanding to include parts of northwest England, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Cheshire, and North Wales.
The warnings highlight potential health impacts for vulnerable individuals and the wider population, alongside concerns for increased water safety incidents.
The UK Health Security Agency has also issued separate amber heat health alerts across most of England, and the Met Office is advising people to stay hydrated and avoid sun exposure during peak hours.
