The Duchess of Sussex has shared a glimpse of family life in footage posted to Instagram following their return to the UK.

The 34-second clip, which features Wham!’s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, begins with Meghan, along with her husband Prince Harry, walking along a country path as she turns and says “come on, you”.

UK flag and heart emojis are shown throughout the video, which also shows their son Archie running towards deer as their daughter Lilibet rides her bike.

Another clip sees Harry fishing with the children as their dog walks alongside the water.

It’s the first time the Duchess has posted her family on her Instagram grid since the Sussexes returned from from the US after living in California.

It is unclear when, or where, the footage posted on Sunday afternoon was taken, external, but one clip shows a pair of wellington boots walking on the spot in a puddle and the children also appear to be in waterproof boots as they head toward the deer.

The UK has had a wet start to September after experiencing its hottest summer on record.

The post offers a rare glimpse into the lives of seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet.

Whereas Meghan does occasionally show the couple’s children on social media, their faces are often obscured as they are photgraphed from behind or their faces are hidden by their parents.

Alongside all the outside footage, there is also a moment showing a child’s feet in front of an open fire.

Last month, a spokesman for the Sussexes would not confirm the family’s arrival in the UK, but did say they were bringing their dogs, Mia and Pula, with them.

The couple adopted a black Labrador retriever several years ago, which is seen several times in the clip.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals and began a new life in the US in 2020.

They have not returned to official duties but will live in Britain as non-working royals.

It is thought the family will base themselves at a private property outside of London in the Cotswolds area, and Archie and Lilibet have been enrolled in a school.

Last week, a spokesperson for both the Duke and Duchess said the couple were surprised by a letter send by the Prince’s father, King Charles III, clarifying they would remain non-working royals.

The spokesperson said the couple “were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance”.

The letter, sent on behalf of the King, spelt out the non-working royal status of Prince Harry and Meghan.

They will still not be able to use titles of “His and Her Royal Highness”, and remain “private citizens”, says the letter sent on behalf of the King by the Lord Chamberlain, a top Palace official.
