McDonald’s fans are ‘mourning’ a popular item that has been removed from the menu, with some saying it was their ‘favourite’. The fast food giant is known for changing its menu every couple of months to add new burgers, sides and collaborations to the restaurant.
The clever marketing tactic, which sees favourites such as the Chicken Big Mac, Mozarella Dippers and Spicy Chicken McNuggets, return to the menu means customers feel a sense of urgency to return and eat their favourites before they are gone.
But McDonald’s fans have said they are ‘mourning’ the loss of one popular menu item that has just been replaced.
One customer took to the R/McDonaldsUK Reddit community to express their disappointment and ask if anyone else felt the same.
They said: “Anyone else mourning the garlic bread cheesy bites. They don’t seem to be a fan favourite but I really love them. Hope they come back soon.”
The garlic bread cheesy bites are similar to the mozzarella dippers, but also contain garlic and chives in a ciabatta-style crumb. Other McDonald’s customers agreed that they were also missing the cheesy bites from the menu.
One person said: “Yes! These are by far my favourite cheese side. These were like the mozzarella dippers but with more flavour. The sauce was great too.
“Controversial I know but I despise the Christmas ones. They’re so sickly to me. I’m also not a huge fan of the chilli ones (but I would purchase them, I try the Christmas ones every year and hate them).
“One thing I really liked that I don’t think anyone else but me remembers – the mozzarella bites/balls? They were like the dippers/sticks but spherical. I think they worked better than the dippers for some reason but I haven’t seen them back in ages.”
A second said: “They are so good I don’t get the hate at all. I’m not a massive fan of the other ones either, haven’t tried the Christmas ones though.”
Other people, however, could not agree with the poster, with fans admitting they would rather see other cheesy sides become a permanent addition on the menu.

One person said: “No, but. I would put them second place. I love the cheese bites we get at Christmas.”
A second said: “I have tried those and they are very nice, in my opinion, is that i like the chili cheese bites and the cheeses bites we have for Christmas season better, although Mozzerella sticks are not my cup of tea as much.”
A third said: “Not really. They promised me garlic, but failed to deliver it to my satisfaction. Bit light on the old filling as well, which certainly didn’t help my first requirement.”
