Traffic has built in the area following the closure of drop-off forecourts at Terminal 2. A Manchester Airport spokesperson said at the time: “Due to a police incident, the upper and lower level forecourts of Terminal 2 are currently closed […] Terminal 3 is unaffected.”

The airport announced the forecourts had opened shortly after 4pm.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to the airport at around 8am and were dealing with a welfare incident. The closure has now resolved and there is no wider threat to the public, the force added.
