Manchester United are facing a busy summer transfer window as the club look to revamp their squad. Manager Michael Carrick will want to improve the options at his disposal as his side prepare for the Champions League next season.
Midfield is a top priority for United after bidding Casemiro farewell at the end of the last campaign. A deal has been struck for Atalanta’s Ederson, who was recently called up to Brazil ’s World Cup squad, but further reinforcements are being targeted in that position.
United hold an interest in Nottingham Forest ’s Elliot Anderson, who has been the subject of two bids from Manchester City. The 23-year-old is set to play a key role for England at the World Cup as the battle for his signature continues.
West Ham United star Mateus Feranandes has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford following the Hammers’ relegation. United are claimed to face competition from Arsenal and Real Madrid for the 21-year-old.
Elsewhere, Carrick’s side are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae, who is currently representing South Korea at the World Cup. Mirror Football looks at some of the biggest stories surrounding United.

United are claimed to be monitoring how Bayern centre-back Kim performs at the World Cup. The 29-year-old played the full match as his country came from behind to defeat Czechia 2-1 on Friday morning.
German outlet TZ reports that Kim is on United’s radar, with the publication adding that the club have spent time scouting the defender. Juventus are reported to be interested in Kim, who joined Bayern in 2023.
United were previously linked with the centre-back before his switch from Napoli three years ago. Kim made 37 appearances as Bayern clinched the Bundesliga title and won the DFB-Pokal last season.
Carrick already has several centre-backs to call upon at United, including Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven. Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt also saw their seasons disrupted by injury and the manager will hope to rely on a settled partnership next term.

United have reportedly moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Mateus Fernandes. The Portugal international scored three and assisted four goals in 36 games for West Ham but was unable to guide the club to Premier League safety.
The Times reports that United are confident of completing a move for Fernandes and are ahead of Arsenal in their pursuit of his signature. The 21-year-old could cost up to £80m, just a year on from his £38m move from Southampton.
Arsenal are claimed to be unwilling to meet West Ham’s valuation, improving United’s chances of completing a deal. However, Real Madrid could still dent the club’s hopes as new manager Jose Mourinho wants the Spanish giants to target Fernandes.
