Man guilty of murdering finance student in Southampton
Vickrum Digwa was found guilty at Southampton Crown Court of the murder of university student Henry Nowak (Hampshire Police)
Vickrum Digwa has been found guilty of murdering 18-year-old finance student Henry Nowak with a Sikh kirpan ceremonial knife with a 21cm blade in Southampton.
Digwa stabbed Mr Nowak five times, including a fatal wound to the heart, on December 3, 2025, after telling him, “I am a bad man”.
The 23-year-old claimed self-defence and alleged a racist attack, but the prosecution dismissed this as a “wicked lie”.
Digwa was also convicted of carrying a bladed weapon, while his mother, Kiran Kaur, 53, was found guilty of assisting an offender by removing the weapon from the scene.
Police initially arrested Mr Nowak based on Digwa’s false claims before he collapsed and died, leading to an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
