A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found injured in a garden in Edinburgh. The alarm was raised at 9.30pm on Friday, July 17 when officers were alerted to a 43-year-old man found on Whitson Road in the capital.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, rushed to the residential street in the west of the city. The man was rushed to Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as “serious”.
Locals reported seeing police in white suits and cordons being erected on Whitson Road and the surrounding areas. Despite the man’s condition being described as serious by hospital staff, he is understood to be stable.
An investigation has been launched and officers remain at the scene as they continue looking into what happened, reports Edinburgh Live.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30pm on Friday, 17 July, 2026, we received a report of a 43-year-old man found injured in a garden in the Whitson Road area of Edinburgh.
“Police and ambulance attended and he was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances. Anyone with information that may assist should contact 101 quoting incident number 3838 of 17 July.”
