Police are investigating after a 59-year-old man was found dead in Edinburgh city centre at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the Hunter Square area beside High Street at around 10.35pm on Sunday, June 14, following the discovery.
Officers attended however the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained while enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.35pm on Sunday, 14 June, we received a report of death in the Hunter Square area of Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and a 59-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are aware.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
