The Jigawa State Police Command has started an investigation into the sudden death of a 60-year-old man at a hotel in Dutse.

This is contained in a statement signed by SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, and shared on the command’s Facebook page.

According to the police, the man checked into the hotel with a 20-year-old woman.

After asking for a meal, he suddenly suffered a medical emergency and began “gasping for air.

“Upon receiving the distress report, police officers attached to the Yalwawa Division responded swiftly to the scene and immediately evacuated him to the General Hospital, Dutse, where he was examined by medical personnel and unfortunately certified dead,” the police said.

Officers from the Yalwawa Division responded to the scene and rushed him to the General Hospital in Dutse, where doctors confirmed him dead.

Police said detectives examined the hotel room and recovered food items, drinks, a suspected sexual enhancement substance, and other personal belongings for further investigation.

The man’s body was later released to his family for burial at their request.

The 20-year-old woman is assisting investigators by providing information about what happened.

The police urged the public to avoid spreading rumours, saying the investigation would be carried out thoroughly, professionally, and impartially.
