The M9 was partially closed after a serious crash during rush hour.
Emergency services were called to the M9 southbound between junctions six and seven, near Falkirk, after the smash took place at around 7.45am.
The M9 southbound was fully closed following the collision as mercy crews responded.
Motorists were stuck in queues of traffic for more than an hour during the morning commute as transport between the Forth Valley and Edinburgh was halted.
Photos taken by the passenger of a passing vehicle show the aftermath of the crash. A supermarket HGV can be seen next to a white car with a smashed front end.
In a second photo, a black car can be seen with damage to the back end while an ambulance can be seen to be parked just behind the lorry with blue lights flashing.
It is not known how many vehicles were involved in the collision or if anyone was injured as a result.

During the peak morning rush, motorists were advised to use an alternative route before the road reopened.
Updating commuters on social media shortly after the incident, Traffic Scotland said: “The M9 southbound between junction 6-7 is currently closed due to a road traffic collision. Emergency services are on scene.
“Traffic queueing on approach with delays of approx. 71 mins. Alternative routes should be used currently.”
Traffic Scotland has since confirmed that the road has since reopened.
