Essex County Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene (National Highways)
The M25 has been closed anti-clockwise between junctions 28 and 26 following two separate lorry fires, National Highways has warned.
One heavy goods vehicle caught fire at around 3 am between junctions 27 and 26, with another lorry blaze occurring between junctions 28 and 27.
Emergency services, including Essex Police and Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, are attending, and specialist recovery is ongoing for one of the vehicles.
National Highways warned of 72-minute delays on the approach to the junctions with five miles of congestion.
Motorists are advised to allow extra journey time or delay travel, and it is not known when the the road will reopen.
