Electric bus destroyed by fire as London battles extreme temperatures
- A double-decker bus caught fire at a depot in west London on Wednesday, 24 June, during the hottest June day on record.
- The number 23 bus, which operates routes from Westbourne Park to Aldwych, was engulfed in flames at the Westbourne Park depot.
- Four fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade responded to the incident, which was reported at 6:23 pm.
- Emergency services brought the blaze under control by 7:11 pm.
- The fire destroyed the bus and two electric charging points, and the cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
