A major fire has erupted at a commercial site in West Lothian, prompting a significant deployment of emergency services.

Crews rushed to Caputhall Road, located inside the Deans Industrial Estate in Livingston, at approximately 3:20pm on Sunday, June 14. A total of five fire engines are on the scene, where crews are actively fighting the flames at one of the units.

Video captured at the site reveals vivid orange flames tearing through the roof of the structure, whilst dense clouds of dark smoke pour into the air.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received the first call at 15.20 and initially mobilised two appliances.”

Scottish Fire and Rescue have warned drivers using the M8 motorway they will see thick plumes of smoke coming from a large industrial building nearby.
