Lindsay Clancy’s search history was discussed during her murder trial, and it was revealed she looked up “can you treat a sociopath” before she killed her three kids.

During the trial on Thursday, August 13, Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Timothy Chiappini took the witness stand after he was tasked to extract data from Clancy’s phone.

Clancy, 36, is on trial for killing her kids Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan in January 2023.

During his testimony, Chiappini read contents from Clancy’s search history, text messages and notes from her phone, according to the Associated Press.

He read the one search about a “sociopath” from January 23, 2023, which was just four days before the kids were killed.

Chiappini also read notes he found on Clancy’s phone, in which she detailed her struggles and personal affirmations.

He went on to read a text exchange between Clancy and her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, about ordering takeout, which was sent on the day that the children were killed.

Chiappini was also cross-examined by Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, who asked him about the large volume of data that was pulled from her phone.

Reddington asked Chiappini is he recalled looking for searches related to suicide, though he said he did not recall. However, Chiappini did say he found a search from Lindsay’s phone about “hallucinations” that was made just days before the killings.

Lindsay pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges, though she has admitted to killing her kids. Her defense has argued that she was not criminally responsible for the murders because she was overmedicated and experiencing extreme postpartum psychosis when the murders occurred.

Meanwhile, prosecutors argued that Lindsay was aware of what she was doing at the time her children died. Prosecution also pointed out that Lindsay attempted suicide by jumping out of the second story of her home after she strangled her kids, which they argued implied that the killings may have been intentional.

If Lindsay is found not criminally responsible for the killings, she will likely be sent to a state mental health facility in Massachusetts. If she is found guilty of first-degree murder, she can be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
