The management of Abia State University, ABSU, has suspended a lecturer, Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, with immediate effect.

Nwaeze had through his Facebook page, alleged that some professors in the institution are earning less than N400,000 monthly.

He also claimed that the cumulative earnings of some tricyclists (Keke riders) is higher than what professors receive in Abia State University.

Reacting to development, the management of Abia State University said the social media posts made by Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze were inimical to the interests of the institution.

The statement suspending the professor was signed by Chijioke Nwogu, the Public Relations Officer/Deputy Registrar of the institution.

According to Nwogu, an investigative panel has been constituted to examine the matter.
