Kwara recruits doctors, nurses to boost manpower

The Kwara State Government has completed the recruitment process for 10 medical doctors and 150 nurses and midwives as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare manpower and improve service delivery across the state.
In a statement obtained by Arewa PUNCH on Thursday, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik confirmed that all newly recruited personnel have successfully concluded their documentation and administrative procedures ahead of deployment.
“All the newly recruited personnel have completed the required paperwork and clearance procedures for formal deployment,” Malik stated.
He directed the successful candidates to proceed to the Administrative Department of the Board to collect their posting letters, noting that the exercise marks a critical step toward strengthening healthcare delivery in the state.
“All the new employees are hereby directed to proceed to the Administrative Department of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board to collect their posting letters,” he stressed.
The Board further announced that the newly recruited healthcare workers are expected to resume duties at their respective places of assignment on or before May 11, 2026.
“The new hires are expected to resume duty at their respective postings on or before 11th May, 2026.”
The Board commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his sustained investment in the health sector, describing the recruitment as part of broader efforts to enhance human capital development and healthcare outcomes.
“The state government’s vision is reflected in ongoing efforts to improve healthcare outcomes and service delivery.”
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq emphasised the importance of accessible and quality healthcare for all residents of the state.
“We believe that a healthier Kwara is a stronger Kwara. This recruitment reflects our commitment to investing in people, training healthcare professionals, and building a system where quality care is accessible to every citizen, no matter where they live,” Abdulraheem said.
He congratulated the successful candidates and welcomed them into the state’s healthcare system, reiterating that the recruitment exercise is part of a deliberate strategy to expand access to quality health services across the state.
