President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani are scheduled to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden in New York City Monday evening, leading to significant security enhancements.
Officials have implemented stringent security protocols for the highly anticipated face-off between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, including a no-bag policy and “TSA-style” screenings around the iconic venue.
The city has also blocked a watch party directly outside Madison Square Garden for Game 3, a decision NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch attributed to the presidential visit and coordination with the Secret Service.
While the main watch party outside MSG is canceled for this game, other public viewing events are proceeding in locations like Central Park and Bryant Park, with the Madison Square Garden watch party expected to resume for Game 4.
