Kim Kardashian and Kanye West cheered on their 13-year-old daughter North West at her solo concert debut from opposite sides of the room.

The reality star and controversial rapper, who split in 2021 after seven years of marriage, showed up separately to support North at her first headline show Saturday night at Chicago’s The Vic Theatre.

The pair kept their distance at the venue, with Kardashian spotted watching from a seated balcony area, and West standing on the opposite side of the theater, according to videos shared online by fans.

North played all six songs from her 11-minute debut EP N0rth4evr, which she released in May, including “Piercing On My Hand” and “W0ah.” She also performed an unreleased track that sampled her dad’s 2008 song “Coldest Winter.”

The teen was dressed in an all-white outfit as she performed before a gothic backdrop with a group of backing dancers.

The one-off performance came after the young rapper called off her 14-date tour with 21-year-old rapper Molly Santana last month. It was previously scheduled to kick off August 5 in Dallas and end August 27 in Los Angeles, but was abruptly canceled days before the first show.

North recently spoke out about her desire to have a regular job, like working at a Starbucks, alongside building her music career.

She told Dazed magazine in August: “I still wanna work. I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year. I think I can next year ‘cause I’m gonna be 14, so… I think I can.”

“I want to have a regular job, I guess,” she added.

North was 12 years old when she dropped her debut EP and then made a surprise appearance on stage with Santana at Rolling Loud festival in Orlando shortly after.

In June, she gave her first solo music festival performance at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in Bridgeview, Illinois.

The former couple still has a co-parenting relationship for the sake of North, and three other children: sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, six, and eight-year-old daughter Chicago.

West, who goes by Ye, also performed two dates in his hometown of Chicago this week as part of a tour that has faced significant disruption in some regions due to his past anti-semitic and pro-Nazi comments.

In June, Swiss football club FC Basel blocked a concert that was due to take place at their club home, St Jakob-Park, because the show was “not in accordance with our values.” In April, West’s three-night headline slot at Wireless Festival in London caused huge controversy before it was blocked by the U.K. government and the rapper was denied entry to the country.
