The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State, has affirmed Governor Nasir Idris as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The affirmation took place during the APC governorship primary held at Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, on Thursday with delegates and party members from across the state in attendance.
Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Abdulmalik Mahmud, announced the affirmation of Idris as the party’s flag bearer.
Mahmud said the committee was in Kebbi State to conduct the primary exercise and confirm the choice of party members.
Speaking after the affirmation, Governor Idris accepted the nomination and pledged to continue implementing development projects across the state if re-elected in 2027.
He also thanked party leaders and former governors in the state for their support and participation in the exercise.
The event was attended by party delegates drawn from the 225 political wards across Kebbi State, as well as former governors and other APC stakeholders.
