A mum has told how Kayden Moy’s teen killers bottled and battered her young daughters in the years before they carried out his violent murder.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous over fears for her safety, claims Police Scotland missed chances to stop notorious “Murray Boys” blade members Cole Turley and Jay Stewart as they inflicted terror on kids on the streets of East Kilbride.
Turley and Stewart, both 18, and a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, were recently convicted of killing 16-year-old Kayden at Irvine beach last summer.
But the mum claims cops were aware of the pair attacking kids in their town long before they took a life.

Speaking of the attacks on her girls, she said: “My kids were left scarred for life by these thugs.
She said: “The group has been terrorising people for years and I believe Kayden’s death could have been prevented if these boys were taken off the streets sooner.”
The mum claims Cole Turley first attacked one of her daughters outside a shop in the Greenhills area of East Kilbride in April 2024.
She said the girl was struck on the head with a vodka bottle in the violent attack before he pushed her into the broken glass.
Pictures shared with the Record show bloodied cuts to the girl’s hand and leg.

The mum said: “She had to get stitches on her legs, her head and her hand.
“Some of the glass shards went through to the bone in her finger.
“The police were called and given footage of the attack from CCTV outside the shop.”
The woman went on to report that Jay Stewart ordered the gang to target her younger daughter three months later, in July 2024, at Calderglen country park.

She continued: “My other daughter was out with her pals when Jay Stewart told two girls to get hold of her.
“She was knocked unconscious and they threw bricks at her head.
“They were hitting her with bottles and kicking her while she was out cold.
“Her face was black and blue and she had bruising in her eyes for weeks.
“They recorded the attack and it was shared on social media.
“I reported this to police too.”

The mum said officers haven’t gone far enough to protect frightened families in East Kilbride while youth gang culture wreaked havoc on the streets.
She added: “There hasn’t been a big enough police presence in the community.
“After these incidents, more youngsters should have been stopped and searched because it was common knowledge that they were walking about with dangerous weapons.
“There needed to be immediate action from the beginning, but even now, I’d like to be able to say that our children feel safe because these boys are in custody, but that is not the case.
“Their families are still here and they dragged them into this horrific violence. It just continues.
“I’m still tracking my kids everywhere they go.
“I’ve got location services on their phones and I’m always phoning and texting them when they leave the house.”
Last week, the Record told how the “Murray Boys” gang roamed the streets wielding blades and Buckfast bottles in the lead up to Kayden’s murder.
Shocking images posted on social media showed the killers masked up and posing with weapons.

One photograph showed Jay Stewart – who has his face covered with a checkered scarf – holding a Rambo-style machete. He had his arm around the 15-year-old killer.
We also reported that the youngest teen killer comes from a family of criminals involved in gangland shootings and drugs.
On the day of Kayden’s murder, Turley, Stewart and the 15-year-old travelled to Irvine Beach looking for a fight with Kayden’s “Himshie gang”.
The trial heard how rocks “the size of hands” were launched at Moy and his friends, while Stewart also wielded a baton.

Kayden and two friends – who were unarmed – challenged the group to a fist fight. It was heard in court that the 15-year-old handed a lock back knife to Turley while Stewart held a police-style extendable baton.
They rushed at Kayden and when he fell to the ground he was stabbed to death by Turley. Stewart shouted ‘Murray Boys’ in the moments after Kayden was stabbed.
They were then seen on CCTV fleeing the beach front and later scarpering to hide inside a flat in East Kilbride after they returned to the town.
Following the verdict, Kayden’s parents, Paul and Ashley said: “Kayden was an amazing, caring boy who lit up every room he walked into.
“Every morning we wake up and are faced again with the reality that he is gone. We will never hear his laugh again, never see his smile, never watch him achieve the goals he worked so hard for.”
The three teenagers are due to be sentenced later this month.

Police Scotland told the Record the force wants to reassure the public it is working hard to combat violence in the town.
Chief Inspector Paul Doyle said: “We care deeply about violence and how it affects individuals, families and our communities. “Addressing the harmful effects of violent crime and supporting victims is a priority for our officers.
“We have dedicated community-based officers who work alongside our response officers whilst being supported by specialist officers.
“Our officers are on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year to keep people safe.
“It is worth stressing that the vast majority of young people do not come to the attention of police but we know that a small minority do sometimes become involved in criminal or anti-social behaviour and their actions can have a negative impact on the lives of local residents.
“We are committed to encouraging people away from this kind of behaviour but will always take appropriate action where incidents are reported and offenders identified.”
