Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde says his campaign for the 2027 presidential election will focus on resetting Nigeria and putting Nigerians’ interests ahead of political, ethnic and religious considerations.
Makinde said this in his latest newsletter, describing the 2027 campaign as an opportunity for Nigerians to discuss the country’s challenges, future and the kind of leadership it needs.
“For me, this campaign will be about putting Nigerians first,” he said.
He said his campaign would seek to “reset our country so that it works for all Nigerians, not just a select few”.
The governor said he would visit the six geopolitical zones in the coming months to meet stakeholders, present his ideas and listen to Nigerians.
“I want to hear directly from Nigerians: workers whose incomes no longer meet their basic needs; business owners struggling to remain open; farmers concerned about security, production and access to markets; young people seeking opportunities to build meaningful lives; and families who want to feel safe in their homes and communities,” he said.
Makinde said his manifesto, known as “The Reset Agenda”, is being reviewed by stakeholders.
He said it would address major issues such as security, the economy, the cost of living and food security.
He added that the manifesto would explain how his proposed policies would be implemented, funded and measured.
He urged voters to judge candidates by their records, ideas and ability to deliver rather than slogans, personalities and political entertainment.
