Jordan North will be best recognised for Capital Breakfast alongside his 2020 appearance on I’m A Celebrity.

Soccer Aid 2026 returns with England once more facing the rest of the world in a celebrity-packed football fixture aiming to raise funds for UNICEF.

Amongst those representing England this year is radio and television presenter Jordan North with numerous ITV audiences eager to discover everything about the 36 year old personality.

Born in York on Valentine’s Day 1990, North spent his formative years travelling due to his disciplined, tight-knit family and attended nine separate schools.

His father Graham North served in the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment from 1982 to 2006, resulting in the family relocating to military barracks throughout Europe.

However, the military link doesn’t end with his father as a total of nine close relatives also serve or have served in the armed forces.

Amongst them is his brother Ryan who serves in the 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, having completed deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A pivotal moment in his childhood occurred in 1998 when his father was stationed in Northern Ireland and the family narrowly escaped the Omagh Bombing by the IRA.

He revealed to Kate Thornton during White Wine Question Time: “It was August, and we were going to go into the town centre that day. We were four boys. It was red hot, the height of the summer holidays.

“We were on the way into town and my mum said: ‘These lot are playing up. We can’t take them into town like this.’ We were meant to go in to book a holiday.

“There was a local walking picnic area, so we went for a walk instead. And we heard the bomb go off.

“Obviously being eight years old, you looked out the windows and just seeing this absolute devastation. And it was awful.”

It was during an episode of North’s podcast Help I Sexted My Boss, which he co-hosts with author William Hanson, that a surprising revelation emerged.

In 2020, Hanson explained to The Metro: “At the start of series five one of our listeners was constantly sliding into my DMs asking: ‘Is Jordan kinky?’ Anyway, I thought I’d ask Jordan on the podcast.”

“He then admitted he had on a previous occasion been tied up with a dressing gown cord.”

“He regrets that now. We even talked about selling Jordan North dressing gown cords on tour because it’s going to haunt him.”

Actress and author Giovanna Fletcher may have won I’m A Celebrity in 2020 but North impressed fans and came in second place.

Yet there was a moment when the radio DJ came close to walking away from the ITV programme after suffering a “complete meltdown” ahead of his Viper Vault trial, before presenter Dec Donnelly stepped in to calm him down.

He previously recalled: “I’ve not talked about this to anyone, I just had a complete meltdown. And I know what people mean now by sheer panic.” “I delayed it by loads. None of this got shown on TV.”

“I just said, ‘I cannot do this. And I’m not going to do this. And in fact, I am gonna go. I don’t need to do this’.”

“I nearly said, ‘I’m just not going to do the trial’. I nearly walked.”

In December 2024, North was out running when he spotted a dog “struggling” in the River Thames close to Hammersmith Bridge.

However, after entering the water from a pontoon and assisting the Labrador, North found himself unable to exit independently and a passer-by contacted the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).

The crew managed to reach them both within three minutes while the star remained on a nearby floating device with the dog positioned on his lap.

Following the incident, North informed listeners of his radio programme: “A big thank you and a massive shout out to RNLI Chiswick. They came and rescued me because I was getting a bit panicky.”

“I was getting a bit nervy as well because I thought my legs are going to go. I couldn’t hold on much longer so they got there just in time.”

“The real heroes here are the RNLI who came out and got me, put a blanket around me. They’re the heroes.”
