Singer Jessie Ware has revealed she feels a deep bond with Pride Month because her brother is gay, saying she grew up feeling fiercely protective of him.

The 42-year-old star, speaking on a US chat show while promoting her new album -Superbloom – was asked about her huge LGBTQ+ fanbase.

She replied: ‘The gay community mean so much to me. My brother is gay and growing up I felt I wanted to protect him. I feel quite responsible to look out for that group. I love the fashion and creativity, they’ve given us so much. I love them.’

Born and raised in south London, Jessie is the middle of three siblings, older sister Hannah is a model and actress, while younger brother Alex is now a doctor.

She has previously admitted she suspected her brother might be gay from a young age, joking: ‘We should have known when he was wearing cowboy boots and Hypercolour cycling shorts and asking for a Jason Donovan haircut aged five.’

‘He was obsessed with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. When Joseph comes up in his coat on that crane, you should have seen his face.’ She added. Jessie has also said she later dedicated her 2013 track Taking in Water, to him, describing it as reflecting his coming out journey.

She said at the time: ‘It’s about my brother. It’s taken on a new meaning when I do it live. He was going through a hard time and I didn’t know how to speak to him, so I wrote a song instead.’

The singer, who also hosts the Table Manners podcast with her mother Lennie, is married to her childhood sweetheart, with whom she has three children.

She recently appeared on Later with Jools Holland, performing tracks from Superbloom and will tour the US and Europe later this year, with dates in New York, Mexico City, London and Berlin.

Jessie will be going on an enormous UK arena tour this year. The British icon, who is best known for singles including Spotlight, Save a Kiss and Remember Where You Are, will be hitting the road this November and December to play some of the biggest shows of her career.

For the first time, she’ll be playing venues with capacities upwards of 23,000 per night. With gigs planned at London’s O2 Arena and Manchester’s Co-op Live, this is one fans will not want to miss. Jessie Ware’s newly-released record is her sixth entry; the first after 2023’s That! Feels Good!

The album, which was released on April 17, 2026, has received rave reviews, and now, The Superbloom Tour will see her venturing across the country later this year. What’s more, Jessie Ware’s tickets will be released in just a few days.

Speaking out about the upcoming tour Jessie Ware confirmed she is “so excited” to be performing her “biggest shows ever”. She continued: “We made it to arenas!!! I am playing iconic venues around the world and I couldn’t be happier.

“The ‘Superbloom’ Tour will be filled with celebration, dancing, theatre, cowboys and goddesses and of course a LOT of singing. Can’t wait to step into my garden where we all shall bloom.”
