Jason Arday: Former University of Cambridge professor found dead
- Former University of Cambridge professor Jason Arday has died aged 41 after being found unresponsive at an address in Battersea, south London.
- The Metropolitan Police are treating his death as unexpected, but officers do not believe the circumstances to be suspicious.
- Prof Arday, who became Cambridge’s youngest Black professor in 2023, recently resigned following media allegations regarding plagiarism in his PhD thesis and other claims.
- An investigation by Liverpool John Moores University cleared him of wrongdoing, although Durham and Glasgow universities are investigating his previous appointments.
- In his open resignation letter, Prof Arday stated he decided to step away after reaching the limits of what any person should reasonably be expected to endure.
