James Handy’s girlfriend says she ‘can’t comprehend’ his stabbing death and son’s arrest

ActorJames Handy’s girlfriend, Wendy Gledhill, has spoken out on his tragic death after her son was accused of fatally stabbing him.
Handy, known for roles in films such as Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji, was found unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest in the front yard of a Los Angeles home on Wednesday morning. He died at a hospital.
Michael Gledhill, the 44-year-old son of Handy’s girlfriend, was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, with bail set at $2 million.
“They know I loved him so much,” Wendy Gledhill said of Handy’s family. “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry this happened. I’m still in shock. I still can’t comprehend it.”
She said that her son suffers from mental health issues including schizophrenia, and had stopped taking his medication last week. Wendy Gledhill said she’s still in shock and “trying to make it through one day at a time.”
