Amazon MGM has confirmed that auditions are currently underway to find the next actor to portray James Bond, with casting director Nina Gold, known for her work on Game of Thrones and Star Wars, reportedly leading the process.
The studio stated they are “excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right”, but will not comment on specific details during the ongoing casting phase.
Speculation regarding Daniel Craig’s successor intensified after his departure following 2021’s No Time To Die, and further when Amazon took creative control of the franchise in February 2025.
While actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi have been rumoured, Callum Turner has recently emerged as a potential frontrunner for the iconic role.
Denis Villeneuve is set to direct the first Amazon-era Bond film, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the script, though the next instalment is not anticipated to be released until 2028.
