This Morning fans were “amazed” as a man carried out a personal procedure live on air.
Mesha Moinirad stripped off his shirt and showed the ITV show’s hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard how he changed his stoma bag in a bid to raise awareness of Crohn’s and colitis, which are the main types of inflammatory bowel disease known as IBD.
He had fallen ill when he was a student at university, becoming so unwell that he nearly died. After tests he was diagnosed with IBD, and ended up deciding to have a stoma.
Mesha, known as Mr Colitis Crohn’s to his social media followers, took off his top and removed the bag he had on, before showing the presenters how he cleaned the area and how to fit a new bag.

He explained that before he was diagnosed doctors hadn’t known why he was so ill “so I had to go down into theatre for eight hours a day for two weeks”. “They would take all my organs out, they would wash them beside me and then vac-pack them,” he said.
“So I was in a coma for over two and a half weeks, which obviously was really touch and go. I nearly died at that point.”
Afterwards he had to learn to walk and eat again, which he said was a “scary time”.
As he demonstrated, presenter Ben said it was “just extraordinary”. “Thank you for doing that, added the TV star. “Demystifying all of it.”

“What a guy I hope this helps someone who is facing this right now, what a guy for doing this,” posted another viewer.
