International manhunt for British man after woman’s body discovered in suitcase

A British man, Matthew Ashley Foster-Smith, has been arrested in Ecuador in connection with the death of Natalia Villalba, whose body was discovered inside a suitcase in Bogota, Colombia.
Foster-Smith is alleged to have beaten Ms Villalba to death on 18 June, placed her body in a suitcase, and then fled the scene.
He reportedly contacted The Sun newspaper before his arrest, claiming he was watching an England football match at the time of the alleged crime.
Authorities, including Dorset Police, assisted in locating him via phone calls he made to the newspaper, leading to his apprehension at Quito International Airport.
His arrest followed an Interpol Red Notice and an arrest warrant issued by Colombian prosecutors, with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office providing support.
