Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding was a huge topic of discussion last year – and not because of the ceremony. For months leading up to the big day, the couple and their families had hit headlines as details of a tense feud came to light, which ultimately saw only one member from Adam’s family attend the wedding.
It hasn’t even been a year since the wedding, but the pair are now expecting a baby. Taking to social media in June 2026, Adam and Holly announced that she was pregnant and they were expecting a daughter to arrive by the end of the year.
Ahead of the arrival of what is sure to be a sweet girl, skilled in swimming pool like her dad and the kitchen like her grandpa Gordon Ramsay, we’re recapping what went down at the wedding and why the Peaty clan are currently estranged from their Olympian relative.

After Adam and Holly got engaged in September 2024, the Ramsay family hosted a lavish celebration that December, which later featured as part of a Netflix documentary on Gordon Ramsay.
Adam and Holly, who met when he competed on the same series of Strictly Come Dancing as her sister Tilly Ramsay, were joined at the party by his parents, Caroline and Mark. But, while they were in attendance, as were other Peaty relatives, they were not seen much and Caroline was only spotted on the sidelines.
Though there was no sign of a feud at the time, Adam’s cousin Krystal later took to Instagram to claim that she had been edited out of the documentary. She said: “I was here in person, guess I didn’t make it on Netflix for my minute of fame. How will I sleep at night?”
Caroline added fuel to the fire by implying that the speech she gave wouldn’t have been filmed as it was “full of love”. She responded to the post and asked: “Did they film my speech Krystal? I bet they didn’t because it was 100 per cent full of love and positivity x.”
November 2025 was when things really started to kick off. On 8 November, Holly held her hen do and invited several guests, including Adam’s sister Bethany, who became a bridesmaid, and Victoria Beckham – but not Caroline Peaty.
Caroline was said to be devastated by her lack of an invite, especially as Adam had invited his soon-to-be father-in-law Gordon to his stag. Her sister, Louise Williams, furiously messaged Holly on publicly viewed social media.
She wrote: “As a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply. A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night.”
She added: “You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum’s assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law. I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam.”
She ended her post with: “You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.” Louise was removed from the wedding guestlist after her online outburst, as was Caroline.

Amid the hen do snub, it was claimed that the feud started over a dress. Caroline had reportedly bought a dress for the wedding but was later told that Adam and Holly didn’t approve of it.
It was claimed that the couple offered to buy her a new outfit, and they were said to have paid for her to go down to Bath, where the wedding would be held, to go shopping.
But those plans never came to fruition as a knife attack in Cambridgeshire caused train cancellations that meant Caroline couldn’t travel. This was said to have angered Adam.
Shortly after Holly’s hen, Adam went on a stag weekend to Budapest, Hungary. On his way back, he was met at Manchester Airport by police, who were thought to be there to protect him.
Adam was said to have become alarmed whilst on his stag, after receiving text messages which Holly then alerted police about. His brother James was arrested at his home in Staffordshire for allegedly sending abusive messages to Adam over the feud with Caroline.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We arrested a 34-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, on November 11, 2025, on suspicion of harassment. The man was released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.”
Meanwhile, Adam’s dad said things have gotten out of hand between the family. Mark told The Sun : “They’re brothers, they’ve always been close, but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, make up and start all over again. But it’s got out of hand, there’s been very little empathy towards Jamie’s genuine mental health difficulties.”
By this point, Adam’s sister Bethany was thought to be the only member of his family with her name still on the guestlist for the wedding. She also became the subject of rumours, as some suggested the Peatys felt “betrayed” by Bethany’s supposed defection to the Ramsay side.
Responding to claims made about him and his family as the feud became known, Adam wrote on social media: “Over the past few days, a lot has been reported and comments posted about the private life of Holly and myself.
“My sister Bethany, has also been targeted. This has been almost entirely one-sided and, in many cases, excessive and intrusive. What makes it worse is that it has been encouraged by members of my family.
“Bethany, Holly and myself cannot go into detail given an ongoing police investigation into serious matters that arose long before recent events. For those who know me personally, you know that I work so hard on trying to improve myself as a person who wants to contribute to making the world a better place.
“I am continuing to learn about myself and how I can be the man I want to be; a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete’ even through these challenging times. Bethany, Holly and I will get through this – we do not ask for sympathy. We just need people to be aware that there are always two sides to every story. To those of you who have reached out and shown kindness and understanding – thank you. It is deeply appreciated.”

Caroline spoke out on the weekend of the wedding to the Daily Mail, saying: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.
“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on…because of the wedding.”
She was also said to have been prevented from seeing Adam’s son, George. He shares the five year old with his ex Eiri Munro – the two broke up in 2022.
By 27 December 2025, all eyes were on Bath Abbey were Adam and Holly would be getting married. Caroline had shared several posts about her heartbreak at being uninvited and some had suggested she might turn up anyway, but the event was heavily guarded by security.
On the day, Louise was said to have texted Adam: “I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame.” But, as he had blocked his family’s numbers, he never read any such message.
During the speeches, several comments were made that were thought to be digs at the Peatys, particularly Caroline. Adam referred to his swimming coach Mel Marshall as someone who was “like a mother” to him, whilst Gordon said his wife Tana “would be a good mother” to both Adam and Holly.

In a move that many thought was another dig at his family, Adam changed his name to Adam Ramsay-Peaty. It was later confirmed that this would be the name he went by when competing in further sporting events.
Adam’s family claimed that Gordon had acted like a bully to them. Later, Gordon addressed these claims in an interview with The Sun. He said he “opened my door and welcomed” Adam’s family.
“I’m certainly not a bully,” Ramsay told The Sun. “I think when you send personal chauffer cars up to Nottingham to invite this incredible family down to enjoy their party – by the way Holly and Adam were hosting that party, Caroline and Mark, Tana and I were guests – appalling to even suggest there was any bullying. That’s absolute nonsense.
“Secondly, opening up my door, welcoming them into the family, at the end of the day there was a lot of friction going on before all that and so there was some stuff that they needed to sort it out and so it was sad to see that barrage of negativity that was self-propelled by them.
“I think once you start enjoying that kind of press attention and you revel in it, you’re sort of feeding the beast.”
Gordon also later revealed on Gaby Roslin’s podcast that Adam calls him “dad”. He said: “He calls me dad. He messaged me and said ‘Hey dad, what have you got? Hey dad, are you around later?'”

Adam’s aunt Louise took to social media following the comment, calling it a “slap in the face” to his dad Mark. She wrote: “That man literally worked his hands bloody in order that you could pursue your dream… He worked long long days as a brickie – a hard laborious back breaking job. He did it without moan or complaint.”
