The governorship candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, has expressed confidence that his party will unseat the current administration in the 2027 election.

Gwarzo made this known while addressing supporters during the affirmation of his candidacy, where he declared that the ruling government would not secure a second term in office.

“We are the followers of Kwankwaso. We are here, and we continue to pray day and night. By the will of Allah, this government will be defeated in a single stroke,” he said.

The former deputy governor stated that the NDC and its supporters are united and determined to bring what he described as a new direction to Kano State.

According to him, the level of enthusiasm among members of the Kwankwasiyya movement is a clear indication that change is possible through democratic means.

He noted that grassroots mobilisation and sustained engagement with the public would play a key role in the outcome of the next governorship election.

Gwarzo also urged his supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding as political activities intensify across the state ahead of the poll.

“We must continue to reach out to the people and expand our base. At the same time, we should remain calm and respect the law,” he added.

He further called on residents of the state to carefully assess the performance of political leaders and make informed decisions when it is time to vote.
