Green the most popular interior paint colour in 2026

- Householders are moving away from minimalist grey interiors in favour of warmer tones like green and pink, according to paint brand Lick.
- Green proved to be Lick’s most popular shade over the past 12 months, accounting for 17.4 per cent of sales, while demand for grey tumbled to just 2.3 per cent.
- White paint remained consistently popular, while neutral tones such as beige and taupe saw an increase in sales over the period.
- Lick reported a 51 per cent sales surge in the first half of the year, outperforming the broader home improvement sector despite consumer spending pressures.
- Chief executive Lucas London attributed the growth to high mortgage rates discouraging home moves, alongside customer demand for quality paint at an affordable price point.
