“Jock Wilson was a generous, lovely, kind man who would do anything to help someone. He sold me my house and land, he helped me with the technical side of setting up my dog park. He would pop round every Christmas with a big sack of potatoes and have a lovely chat when he was passing. He will be hugely missed by all who knew him! I’ve known him and Linda and their lovely family for 40 years.”
Jane Wilson, John’s daughter, commented: “Thank you Colleen for your kind words”, to which the company replied “your dad was pure gold Jane.”
John was a much-loved member of the community and dozens of locals took to the comments section to share their love for him, reports Edinburgh Live.
One Facebook user wrote: “I’m heartbroken to hear this news. He was such a lovely kind, generous man who supported our charity completely, which without his help would not have been as successful.” Another said: “He was a great man, a huge loss to the family and community that he supported greatly.”
