  • Outrage has erupted in Ireland over the death of Congolese-born man Yves Sakila, who was restrained by security guards outside a Dublin department store last Friday.
  • Mr Sakila became unresponsive and later died after being detained in connection with an alleged shoplifting incident.
  • A video of the incident, widely shared online, appeared to show someone kneeling on his head or neck during the restraint.
  • Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin has called for a full and thorough investigation into the circumstances of the death.
  • The Irish Network Against Racism and the Congolese community have expressed deep concern, with the latter stating they no longer feel safe in Ireland.
