Former police officer moves to safe house after Grok falsely linked her to Henry Nowak case
Henry Nowak protests: ‘Rioters smashed cars as our kids slept upstairs – we were terrified’
A former police officer, Christi Hill, has been forced to move to a safe house after being falsely accused by AI and social media of involvement in the Henry Nowak murder case.
Hill was wrongly identified by Grok, X’s AI service, and various Facebook users as one of the arresting officers, despite having left Hampshire Constabulary 20 months before the incident.
The false accusations led to threats against Hill, causing her significant distress and fear for her safety, and damaging her reputation.
Hampshire Constabulary acknowledged the spread of misinformation and threats against officers, stating that an officer unrelated to the case had been misidentified.
Grok issued an apology on X, admitting its error in identification and taking responsibility for the harmful online speculation and distress caused.
