The family of Vikki Soloman have revealed they will continue to seek justice despite her suspected killer being found dead in jail.
Emergency services were called to a property on Craigievar Square at around 8.45pm after Vikki was reported to have serious injuries. But after paramedics arrived at the scene she was tragically pronounced dead.
Lee Greenan, 46, was arrested after walking into his local pub “covered in blood” and admitting to the killing. He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, charged with her murder and two charges of assault and was remanded in custody.

However, he was found dead at HMP Edinburgh on Sunday in what is believed to have been a suicide.
Her devastated family have released a statement through Police Scotland and said the death is ‘bitter blow’ but insisted they will continue to ‘pursue justice’
They said: “Following the heartbreaking loss of Vikki Soloman, her family is deeply moved and overwhelmed by the wave of love and supportive messages which brings great comfort at this devastating time.
“The community’s solidarity provides the family great strength as they feel the profound loss and grief of losing Vikki, taken so young and in such tragic circumstances. The loss of a devoted mother has left an irreplaceable loss.
“Furthermore, news of the passing of Lee Greenan, the man charged with her murder is another bitter blow to the family. The family remains determined to pursue justice for Vikki.

“Their primary focus now is on her two children and are committed to ensuring they are safe, supported and surrounded by their mother’s lasting legacy of love.
“The family kindly asks for privacy as they grieve and focus on supporting the boys.
“Details of funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.”
The property on Craigievar Square was cordoned off while forensics scoured the area and the Mid Yoken pub, just over a mile away, was also locked down and guarded by police as part of their investigation.
In a statement the pub said the police investigation concerned an incident outside the pub and offered their condolences to Vikki’s family.
A local who was at the Mid Yoken when Lee turned up told the Record: “Lee is well known locally. He played for the local football team, Clermiston Star, and loved his football.

“After killing Vikki, he walked into the pub covered in blood and said he’d murdered his partner. It was shocking, like something out of a film.
“It is tragic how this has played out. The families and friends of Vikki and Lee are in shock.”
A woman’s network Vikki was part of released a statement following her death about domestic violence.
It said: “Vikki was a member of our community and last night she was killed in her home. There are no words to describe how horrific this incident is, and the trail of devastation it has left.
“Nearly half of women killed in Scotland are killed by a partner or ex-partner, and 89 per cent of domestic abuse happens inside the home, the place we’re supposed to feel safest.
“Police Scotland recorded over 66,000 domestic abuse incidents last year, and campaigners say that’s still only the visible part of it. If any of this feels close to home, if you’re scared, or something doesn’t sit right, reach out.”
Vikki’s heartbroken friend Karren Lennen set up a fundraiser for her sons, who have been left facing an “unimaginable” future.
She wrote: “Our hearts were shattered by the sudden and devastating loss of Vikki. She was a devoted and wonderful mother, the rock of her family, and a fabulous friend to so many.
“Vikki dedicated her life to providing for her sons, Reece and Jude. Watching them grow into the wonderful young men they are today brought her immense joy and pride. To Vikki, the boys and everyone grieving: you will never walk alone.
“Her tragic passing has left an unimaginable void in their lives and placed an overwhelming burden on the boys as they try to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.”
