Family of ICU nurse killed by ICE speaks out after Trump’s ‘unpresidential’ attacks

Markwayne Mullin ‘regrets’ calling Alex Pretti a ‘deranged individual’
  • The family of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse fatally shot by federal agents in Minneapolis, publicly criticized President Donald Trump for labeling Pretti an agitator and insurrectionist.
  • Video footage of the January incident contradicted early administration claims, showing agents disarming Pretti and wrestling him to the ground before shooting him multiple times in the back.
  • In an interview on “Good Morning America” that aired Tuesday, the Pretti family reflected on Trump’s Truth Social post in which he called Alex Pretti an “agitator” and “perhaps, insurrectionist.”
  • “It’s so unpresidential. I mean, it’s ridiculous that the leader of the free world speaks that way about an American citizen,” Michael Pretti, the father of Alex Pretti, said in the interview.
  • An attorney for the Pretti family stated that the Department of Justice has failed to reach out to the family regarding its ongoing investigation into the shooting. A White House spokesperson responded by stating that President Trump views Pretti’s death as a tragedy and supports a fact-based investigation into the incident.
