Falconets held by Korea in pre-World Cup friendly

Nigeria’s Falconets were held to a 1-1 draw by Korea Republic in their last friendly ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Tuesday afternoon.

Mary Mamudu gave the Falconets the lead one minute before the half hour mark.

Mamudu, it would be recalled, also scored Nigeria’s only goal in the 1-0 victory over Poland last Saturday.

Korea levelled from the penalty spot 12 minutes from time.

The Falconets will now shift attention to their opening World Cup fixture against Spain at the Arena Sosnowiec

on Monday, 7 September.

Moses Aduku’s side will also face China and New Caledonia in the same group.
