Josephine Jobert’s beloved crime drama Saint-Pierre will return for a third series, and production is only weeks away.

The former Death in Paradise actress portrays Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault in the programme, who resides in the beautiful Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. She appears alongside actor Allan Hawco, recognised for his performance in the Amazon Prime Video series Jack Ryan, as Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick.

The storyline follows the duo, who find themselves in Saint-Pierre for their own distinct reasons. While it may seem like an idyllic retreat, Arch and Fitz quickly uncover a sinister underbelly in the French territory off Canada’s coast, teeming with criminal enterprise for them to dismantle.

Initially premiering in 2025, the cosy comfort series swiftly became a viewer favourite on the Canadian broadcaster CBC and secured a second series. In April, the inaugural series debuted in the UK on U&Alibi.

On Tuesday (May 27), Deadline confirmed the programme’s third-series renewal, with filming scheduled to begin in July across Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, reports the Express.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from CBC, our incredible partners at Fifth Season, and the worldwide fans who have embraced the show from the very beginning”, Hawco and co-creator Robina Lord-Stafford informed the publication.

“Returning to Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre et Miquelon for Season 3 is especially exciting, as these locations are such an important part of the show’s identity.

“We’re looking forward to building on the momentum of the first two seasons and bringing audiences even more of the mystery, unexpected twists, and character dynamics that make this world so special.”

The series has already been hailed by IMDb users as a “must-watch”, with the episode entitled ‘Kill Lil’ receiving particular acclaim as one that “hits all the right notes”.
