The UK’s Eurovision Song Contest spokesperson La Voix was branded “shameless” by a co-star after being issued a “warning” by BBC bosses. La Voix was announced as the representative of the Eurovision jury after her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing last year.
It means the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK finalist because the first ever “spokesqueen” for the United Kingdom at Eurovision. The performer told the BBC she was “absolutely over the moon” to dishing out the UK’s points this evening.
La Voix opened up about her time on Strictly during an appearance on Drag Race UK co-host Alan Carr’s Virgin Radio show. Alan said: “I’ll be honest with you La Voix, you were shameless, shameless.”
La Voix replied: “They kept saying to me you can’t do this and I was like, ‘Don’t ever tell me not to do anything because I’ll do it’.”
Alan went on to say he thought La Voix was “going to be Tasered” at one point. The performer responded: “You’ve got to grab these opportunities. It was a great moment and I couldn’t resist.”

As well as appearing on Drag Race UK, La Voix has been on Britain’s Got Talent, had a role in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, and came fourth in Graham Norton’s Queen of the Universe. She will now deliver the UK’s Eurovision verdict live from Salford later this evening.
Speaking to the BBC, she said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be announcing the UK Jury scores at Eurovision 2026. It’s the one night where sequins are en masse, key changes are compulsory, and absolutely anything can happen – so naturally I feel right at home. I’ll do my best to behave… but no promises!”
This year the UK will be represented by Sam Battle, known mostly as Look Mum No Computer. Sam was announced as the UK’s representative in February 2026, with his track, Eins, Zwei, Drie, billed as a high-energy, deliberately “cheesy” slice of electronic music ahead of the performance in Vienna.

The UK entry will be keen to move on from last year’s performance, where Remember Monday’s What the Hell Just Happened? scored zero. It was the second time the UK have managed the feat, firstly with Jemini’s Cry Baby in 2003.
Remember Monday did however pick up points from the Eurovision jury. Finland, represented by Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen, are currently among the favourites to win this evening with Liekinheitin .

Eurovision host Angela Scanlon has spoken fondly of the UK entry. She told the Mirror: “There’s something really exciting about an act that feels completely original – and that’s what he brings in spades.
“Eins, Zwei, Drei has personality, energy, and that slightly unpredictable edge that Eurovision audiences love. If the performance lands the way it promises to, I think it could really connect. And ultimately, that’s what it’s all about – creating a moment people remember.”
The Eurovision Song Contest will air from 8pm on BBC One.
