Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has given his predictions ahead of the 2026/2027 Premier League season.

Rooney, speaking with BBC Sport, said that Arsenal will retain their title this term.

The Gunners ended a 22-year wait last season, finishing seven points ahead of Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s men have opened this campaign with a 3-0 thrashing of City in the Community Shield last Sunday.

And Rooney is backing Arsenal to be champions again and City to be runners-up.

Rooney has also said Liverpool and Manchester United will complete the top four.

Arsenal will kick off the defence of their title when they host Coventry City on Friday.
