Manchester City legend, Sergio Aguero, has named Aston Villa among the teams to challenge Arsenal for the Premier League title this season.
Aguero also pointed out that usual contenders such as Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are rebuilding with new managers.
The former Argentina international noted that Mikel Arteta’s side are the team to beat this term, having won the Premier League last season.
“I think they [Arsenal] will be the team to beat for everyone else. They have continued with a very clear playing philosophy,” Aguero told Stake (via METRO).
“I’d add Aston Villa into the title race; they have been doing a great job with Emery.
“You have to bear in mind that most of the usual contenders are starting new projects: Chelsea with Xabi Alonso, City with Maresca, Liverpool with Iraola, Tottenham with De Zerbi and United with Carrick. They’re still basically rebuilding their teams.”
Arsenal won their first Premier League match of this season against Coventry City at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
