But they began the game against the Red Devils in confident fashion, scoring twice from set-pieces in the first half.
Semi Ajayi and Nobel Mendy scored for Hull City as they recorded a famous win over United.
The result takes them up to second place behind Arsenal, who thrashed Coventry City 3-0 on Friday night.
Michael Carrick’s men host Ipswich Town next weekend.
