Google Pixel is the official smartphone of the England football team, and fans and shoppers alike can save almost £150 on the flagship model. It comes amid Sky Mobile’s latest wave of price cuts that have seen the Google Pixel 10 reduced by £144.

It usually costs £24 when spreading the cost with a Sky monthly plan, but now it comes in at £20. This equates to a £144 saving when taking the phone on a 36-month contract.

A similar deal is available with the larger and more powerful Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, which drops from £34 to £32. Both options also require a £12 upfront payment to get the ball rolling.

However, a caveat with Sky’s Google Pixel 10 deal is that the prices only cover the handset and a 100MB data allowance, so customers should consider upgrading to a larger Sky data plan if they need it. Elsewhere, shoppers preferring to buy outright can find the Pixel 10 reduced to £541.88 (was £608.01) at Amazon.

Elsewhere, Currys-backed retailer Mobiles.co.uk offers the Pixel 10 for £24.99 per month and £9 upfront on iD Mobile’s 100GB tariff. This also comes with an official Google silicone case at no extra cost.

Sky Mobile is knocking £144 off the Google Pixel 10 when spreading the cost with a monthly plan.

Football fans may have noticed an increase in Google Pixel adverts around this summer’s World Cup coverage. That’s because Google teamed up with The FA in 2023 to become the official mobile phone partner of the England team with the aim of giving fans ‘a richer experience than ever before’.

Google Pixel provides exclusive on and off-pitch activity through the Pixel camera lens, sharing new and unseen footage of the Three Lions across The FA social and digital channels. Google also produces the ‘Pitchside, Presented by Pixel’ content series featuring matchday coverage, pre-match build-up and post-match reactions.

Google’s Pixel 10 is powered by the tech giant’s new Tensor G5 chip and offers advanced AI features from Google Gemini. It’s designed with a 6.3” Actua display with tough Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, alongside a triple rear camera system that includes an ultra-wide lens.

It also boasts a long-lasting battery that Google says can run for 24 hours. When the Pixel 10 series launched last year, Technology Editor Dave Snelling praised them as ‘very smart’ phones.

“As you’d expect from Google, these are very smart smartphones that come packed with AI and full access to Google Gemini,” he said. “A system-wide new feature in Google apps called Magic Cue promises ‘proactive contextual suggestions’.

“This will offer on-screen text which then points you towards a likely next action, such as displaying your upcoming flight information from Gmail in the Phone app if the Pixel 10 detects you are on a call to that same airline, or suggesting forwarding the information via text if a saved contact asks for your flight information in Google Messages. “The phones even come with a clever Camera Coach feature that checks what you are about to shoot and offers instant ways to improve the photo.

“That means every snap will be instantly ready for Instagram. That clever photographic boost joins other smart functions such as Best Take and Add Me, which manipulate reality to put the best faces on people from a burst of shots, or adding the taker of a photo to the final image by taking a photo of them in the same spot afterwards.

“Another nice boost is the new Pixelsnap technology. It’s very similar to the iPhone’s MagSafe feature with magnets built into all Pixel 10 devices that let you effortlessly snap wireless chargers, stands, grips and thousands of other accessories onto the phone.”
